Estimate Guidelines
To provide an accurate cost estimate Glyph requests that you provide as much detail as possible in your request. For translation/localization projects please provide us with the following information:
- Source and target languages
Tell us from what language your content is in now and into what language it is to be translated (e.g. English to Spanish translation) - Target Market
Whom do you want to reach with this translated content (e.g. Clinical researchers in Spain) - Project description
Explain your objective/business challenge and what services you need (e.g. I need to translate a user manual for a medical device; or I need to translate the content of my website) - Source file type
(e.g. Word; Excel; web-based files—.html, .asp, .jsp, .xml, etc.); Flash; Quark; FrameMaker) - Desired deliverable
At the end of the project what do you want as a final product (e.g. deliver the same file type as the original source file; a fully localized and tested website; only translated xml files which we will use to rebuild our website) - Estimated number of words and pages
(e.g. all of the files combined contain approximately 50,000 words and 250 pages) - Source application detail
Tell us what software versions and operating systems were used to create the source files (like InDesign CS for Mac OS X; Word 2003 for Windows XP; Illustrator 8 for Windows 2000) - File transfer
For large files or sets of files (like sets of website files), Glyph will setup an FTP site to enable simple transfer of your files to our server.
