Software Localization
Glyph has observed that many software developers, regardless of the industry, are reluctant to let anyone “mess around” with their code. Since Glyph develops its own proprietary management software internally, we appreciate this concern. Consequently, we have chosen to develop our software localization services around a model that keeps the code in the hands of our clients. We stick with what we do best—language.
Process
Glyph specializes in software translation and QA testing. We receive content from clients, usually in Excel or XML format (XLIFF, TMX), and translate the strings using experienced software translators who understand the ins and outs of graphical user interfaces, text expansion, concatenation and variables. The translated strings are sent back to the client so that the software can be rebuilt. Once rebuilt, the localized software is sent back to Glyph for QA Testing. Bugs are logged by the QA testers and sent to the client, where fixes are implemented. Subsequent rounds of testing are performed as necessary.

Cost savings
Compared to large software localization vendors, Glyph keeps costs low by avoiding the investment in software engineers and infrastructure that are required for full-service software localization. In addition, we keep QA testing prices low by in-sourcing, using our own Staffing service to supply temporary specialized testers. We save by not maintaining a full-time staff of testers and enhance quality by selecting testers based on the specific requirements of each project.
